NovaDB 6.3: More Speed for Administrators, Consultants, and Implementation Partners

With NovaDB 6.3, Noxum GmbH introduces several innovations that primarily ease administrators’, consultants’, and implementation partners’ daily work. At the center is the new Actions feature, which lets suitable tasks and workflows run instantly, without the detour through a background job. The update also brings a more unified interface and an enhanced Visual Editor for greater usability in everyday work. In addition, parameters make Razor Views more flexible to use, and new health checks allow simple monitoring of the system from outside the cluster.

Würzburg, August 21, 2026 – Noxum GmbH, a specialist in content management and editorial systems, is releasing NovaDB 6.3, a version that eases administrative and advisory tasks in daily work.

Jobs run in the background and are well suited to time-consuming tasks such as publications or exports. Users start a job, keep working in the meantime, and receive a notification once the result is ready. For tasks that need an immediate result, this approach falls short. That is exactly where NovaDB 6.3 introduces the new Actions feature. An Action runs immediately and its result is available right away. This lets consultants and implementation partners build project-specific functions without any programming, functions that feel to users like a native part of the product.

One example: an invoice object should automatically generate a matching reminder object and file it directly into the output tree. Previously, this required a job that took time to complete. With Actions, the result is now available instantly. Customers benefit because recurring work steps can be completed directly within their usual workflow, without having to interrupt their work or wait for a notification.

When an Action creates a new object, that object can be opened and used right away.

Context menus and toolbars have been unified across central areas such as search, structure, object board, work packages, jobs, favorites, and recently used objects. As a result, users work with the same familiar workflows across all areas. In addition, the Visual Editor now supports creating and linking new referenced objects directly within the editor. This lets users edit and design their content consistently in one place, without having to leave their working context.

Razor Views are templates that define how content from NovaDB is displayed, for example in a PDF, in previews, or on a website. Beyond pure content previews, Razor Views can also show status information, check whether objects are complete, or visualize relationships between objects. In NovaDB 6.3, Razor Views gain additional parameters, so a single configuration can now serve multiple use cases instead of requiring a separate configuration to be created and maintained for every variant.

One example is the creation of PDF documents: the desired language, such as English, French, or German, can now be passed as a parameter instead of keeping a separate configuration for each language. Likewise, when a data sheet needs to exist in two different layouts, a single job is now enough, with the desired layout chosen at start. For consultants and implementation partners, this means simpler operation and less maintenance effort, since one job now covers several variants that previously had to be maintained separately.

For day-to-day operations, it is important to keep an eye on system availability at all times, including from outside your own data center. NovaDB 6.3 provides simple health checks for exactly this purpose. Administrators can integrate these health checks into existing monitoring solutions and so detect early when a service becomes unreachable.
