AI & Automation AI and NovaDB
NovaDB integrates AI directly into product data and content processes. From simple automation to autonomous agents within the workflow. AI is an integral part of the platform—not an add-on, and not a vendor lock-in. This enables intelligent workflows that reduce manual effort and significantly shorten time-to-market.

NovaDB and AI: Two Approaches, One Platform
NovaDB integrates AI in two ways:
- AI agents operate within NovaDB and support daily workflows in PIM, CMS, and DAM.
- The NovaDB AI Connector makes NovaDB data available in the AI tools your teams already use. There is no need to open NovaDB to do this.
Claude + AI Agents + NovaDB: From Structured Data to a Landing Page
In this demo we explore how Claude, AI Agents and NovaDB can work together to transform structured data into web content.

From PIM to Published: NovaDB AI Agents in Action
Using AI Agents configured directly within NovaDB, product information stored in the PIM is automatically transformed into fully written blog articles.

Your model, your choice
NovaDB does not dictate a specific AI model. You decide what best suits your needs: privacy requirements, performance, cost, or existing infrastructure.
- OpenAI GPT-4o, GPT-4.1
- Anthropic Claude
- Google Gemini
- xAI Grok
- Private / On-Premise
If you use one model today and switch to another tomorrow, you won't need to reintegrate NovaDB. The integration follows open standards and is vendor-neutral.

AI Agents in NovaDB
AI agents work directly within PIM, CMS, and DAM systems. They can be addressed via @mentions, have their own roles and permissions, and integrate seamlessly into existing workflows.
AI Agents as Colleagues in NovaDB
AI agents in NovaDB are not a separate tool. They operate within the platform with the same roles, permissions, and data access as any other team member.
You can address each agent directly via @mention in the workflow, just as you would address a colleague. The agent understands the data model, recognizes the context, and prepares their work for review. Decisions are always made by the team.
- @Content Agent
- @SEO Agent
- @PIM Agent
- @DAM Agent
- @Translation Agent
- ...

AI in PIM: How Agents Contribute to Product Data Management
When a new product series is created in PIM, an AI agent identifies which description fields are still missing, which variants do not yet have technical characteristics, and whether a similar product already exists as a reference.
It generates draft text based on existing attributes, checks whether units of measure are consistent, and verifies that classification data such as ECLASS or ETIM has been fully maintained. All suggestions are added as tasks to the workflow. Approval remains with the team.

AI in CMS: From Draft Text to Active Workflow Participant
AI agents perform defined tasks without manual intervention: generating product descriptions from PIM attributes, preparing content for various channels, making texts ready for translation, or enriching fields based on rules.
AI agents go a step further. They independently recognize when dependent content needs to be updated following a product change, prepare tasks in the workflow, and can be directly addressed via @mention. Decisions are always made by the team

Here's how it works in practice
Ask a question
You ask Claude: “Which products in the Pumps category don't have an English description yet?”
AI analyzes and generates
Claude reads the data directly from NovaDB, identifies the gaps, and generates draft text based on the existing PIM attributes.
The result goes into the workflow
The drafts are added as tasks to the editorial workflow in NovaDB. Your team reviews them, approves them, and that's it.

NovaDB AI Connector
Access product data, content, media, and workflow status from NovaDB directly in Claude, Office, ChatGPT, and hundreds of other AI tools without opening the platform. The connector works in both directions and is based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Who benefits and how

Sales & Business users
Work in Claude or directly in PowerPoint and Word.
A sales manager asks Claude in PowerPoint: “Give me the current specs, description, and images for the X200 pump series.”
Claude retrieves everything from NovaDB and populates the slide content directly. No PIM login, no copy-pasting, no outdated data.

Editorial & Marketing
Working in Claude Desktop or Word.
“Which products have changed this week and require updated category descriptions in the CMS?”
Claude checks the workflow status in NovaDB and returns a prioritized list, ready to be processed in Claude or Word.

Developer via Claude Code
Programmatic access to NovaDB from the coding environment.
Query product data structures, validate content for a shop integration, or automate bulk enrichment workflows—all directly from Claude Code without switching tools. Already requested by customers.
Claude directly in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Claude is available as an add-in for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, bringing a full-featured Claude chat directly into the Microsoft Office applications your team uses every day. This is intentionally designed as an alternative to Microsoft 365 Copilot: you decide which AI powers your Office applications.
In combination with the NovaDB AI Connector, your team can retrieve up-to-date product data, text, and media from NovaDB without leaving the Office application. What used to require searching in the PIM, checking with the product team, and manual copying now happens in a single conversation with Claude.

Control NovaDB directly from AI environments
The NovaDB AI Connector makes product data, content, and assets from NovaDB accessible to external AI tools. You stay in the tool you’re working in and retrieve up-to-date, authorized NovaDB data directly into your workflow. There’s no need to open NovaDB.
The connector works in both directions: reading product specifications, retrieving current images, checking workflow status, and writing results back. Access always follows the same roles and permissions as any other use within NovaDB.
It is based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard with a rapidly growing tool ecosystem, including Claude, ChatGPT, and hundreds more.

A platform for product data, content, and assets
NovaDB combines PIM, CMS, and DAM into a single integrated system. Product data, editorial content, and digital assets are stored in a shared database and distributed from there to all channels.
This architecture makes NovaDB the ideal foundation for AI: The data model is self-describing, access is API-first, and AI always sees PIM, CMS, and DAM simultaneously. Whether it’s simple text generation or autonomous agents in the workflow, both are available directly within the platform.

No. NovaDB is vendor-neutral. You can use OpenAI GPT-4o, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, xAI Grok, or a private on-premise model. If you switch models later, no reintegration of NovaDB is needed.
The NovaDB AI Connector makes product data, content, and media from NovaDB accessible in external AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint — without opening NovaDB. It is based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and works in both directions: reading and writing back results.
AI Agents operate inside the platform with the same roles and permissions as any team member. You address them via @mention in the workflow. They prepare their work for review, but all decisions are made by the team.
Yes. When a new product series is created, an AI Agent can identify missing description fields, check whether classification data like ECLASS or ETIM is complete, verify consistent units of measure, and generate draft texts from existing attributes. All suggestions go into the workflow as tasks for team review.
No. Via the NovaDB AI Connector, your team can retrieve up-to-date product data, descriptions, and images directly inside Claude, PowerPoint, or Word. A sales manager can ask Claude in PowerPoint for current specs and images of a product series, and Claude populates the slide content without any PIM login or manual copying.
Yes. Because NovaDB combines PIM, CMS, and DAM in a single integrated system, AI Agents always have access to all three areas simultaneously. An agent can identify missing product descriptions in PIM, prepare the corresponding content in CMS, and check the availability of media assets in DAM — all within one workflow, without switching systems.
