NovaDB 6.1: Comprehensive Improvements in Workflows and Usability

Noxum GmbH has released NovaDB 6.1, focusing on targeted improvements for daily workflows: faster navigation, clearer context display, and an enhanced API with public documentation.  

Würzburg, April 23, 2026: Noxum GmbH, a specialist in information management, product data management, and content management, is introducing NovaDB 6.1, a new version of its platform. The focus is on concrete improvements in the application: shorter paths within the interface, greater clarity when working on multilingual projects, and a more robust API for developers and integration partners.   

Everything at a glance, always one step faster

NovaDB 6.1 reduces the number of clicks required in frequently used processes. Users benefit from the following new features:

• It is possible to switch directly from overview panels to the expanded view.
• Dashboard tiles show a visible three-point menu for context actions
• "Open definition in new tab" is now available for admins in additional places, including workflow states, variant definitions and razor views
• Structures support "Start job" actions directly in the toolbar for child lists and in the context menu.

Security when working in multilingual projects

Anyone working in projects with multiple languages or variants will benefit from a clearer display of the current working context. It is now more intuitive to use thanks to new filter options and makes it easier to work with many language variants. The footer permanently displays the active language and variant. A new selection dialog with integrated search and favourites function makes context switching faster and safer.

Work list and work packages for large projects

In large projects, dynamic reloading in the work list ensures smooth scrolling even with many objects. The filters now show all changed objects or objects to be changed regardless of type, which saves time, especially in mixed projects, and avoids rework due to overlooked objects.

More flexible everyday editing

Dialog handling has been fundamentally revised and improved. Dialog windows can be adjusted in position and size and remain persistent in the last selected configuration. When moving elements on the Kanban board, authorizations for workflow statuses are checked directly during hovering so that unauthorized actions are detected at an early stage. Objects without read permission appear visible in job details, but without interaction options, which improves clarity in teams with different roles.

The thumbnail job now ignores deleted objects. The multi-edit dialog also provides clear feedback if there is no shared editable attribute, and read-only attributes are no longer unnecessarily validated during object creation, which contributes to better performance.

The "Additional information" panel is available directly on the selected object, without additional navigation.

Improvements for the Excel add-in

Usability, performance and stability when comparing Excel data with NovaDB objects have been improved with this release.

Open documentation and a strengthened API

The API documentation is now publicly available at docs.novadb.com and provides a clear point of contact for developers and integration partners. The CMS API has been enhanced in several ways: Impersonation is subject to full authorization checks, unintended attribute changes are prevented, downloads of large artifacts run stably, and object values now also provide transaction IDs. A new endpoint allows the resolution of a user's display name.

Platform and migration note

All modules have been upgraded to .NET 10 with NovaDB 6.1 and work with the latest libraries to ensure stable performance.
