NovaDB 6.0: Greater transparency and improved searchability for content and product data
Expansion of search, integration capability and process transparency in content and product data management
With version 6.0, Noxum is expanding its ContentHub platform specifically in the areas of search, transparency and integration capability. The new full-text search via external binary files, the official release of the CMS API V1 and enhanced monitoring functions strengthen the platform's performance, transparency and integration capabilities.
Würzburg, February 25, 2026 - Noxum GmbH, specialist for content management and editorial systems, announces the release of NovaDB 6.0. The release brings functional enhancements to the full-text search, the official release of the CMS API and improvements to job management and the user interface. This gives companies additional options for controlling information processes more efficiently and connecting complex system landscapes in a stable manner, while partners will notice clear improvements in handling, traceability and transparency.
New full-text search via external files
NovaDB 6.0 significantly extends the full-text search. Content from external binary files such as PDF or Office documents can now be fully searched. This is based on a new mechanism for extracting text content that supports a wide range of file formats.
This results in clear advantages for users:
- All relevant information can be searched centrally, even from attached documents
- Faster searches in large databases
- Better findability of technical documentation, data sheets or contracts
- Support in the Digital Product Passport in documents such as declarations of conformity, certificates, etc.
A new "Extract Full Text" job is also available, which can be used to automatically extract and index full texts from external files. Information from documents can be found in one place without having to be entered manually. This creates a consistent search basis across structured data and external files. The search can be configured both explicitly and implicitly, allowing different application scenarios to be mapped flexibly.
CMS-API V1 as official release
With NovaDB 6.0, CMS-API V1 officially becomes the successor to OpenAPI. With the official version V1, Noxum is creating a stable, versioned integration basis. This gives companies planning security for web portals, e-commerce platforms and individual front-ends.
New functions in the Visual Editor
With the release of NovaDB 6.0, undo and redo actions are possible at component level in the Visual Editor to make content editing even more efficient. Improved table cell navigation and optimized line break behavior make it easier to work with structured content and increase editorial precision.
More transparency in job management
NovaDB 6.0 significantly expands the monitoring of background processes. Ongoing processes can now be monitored in real time. Those responsible receive transparent insights into the utilization and progress of import, merge or publication processes. With these new monitoring options, Noxum enables its partners to work more independently.
For users, this means
- Better estimation of runtimes for extensive tasks
- Early detection of bottlenecks
- Greater planning reliability for import, merge or publication processes
A new parameter for configuring database timeouts also makes it possible to execute larger transactions in a controlled manner. Warning mechanisms in the Job Manager indicate possible version incompatibilities and thus increase operational reliability.
More efficient processing and administration
NovaDB 6.0 also brings noticeable improvements to the web interface. The performance with large amounts of data has been improved, the loading behaviour when dealing with long lists has been optimized and UI settings are retained when switching between objects.
Another new feature is the ability to edit permissions for multiple objects simultaneously, which significantly reduces administrative effort.
In addition, the assignment of rights for work packages has been sharpened to create clearer responsibilities and more governance in collaborative processes.
Further developments for developers and front-end integration
In the area of APIs and rendering functions, the technical foundations have been modernized.
These include, among other things:
- Enhanced search and sorting options in the Delivery API, including score-based sorting
- Improved indexing with new index file version
- New functions in the Razor API for condition checking and integration of CSS resources
These customizations strengthen the integration of NovaDB into modern frontend stacks and support high-performance headless scenarios.
With NovaDB 6.0, Noxum is specifically strengthening its platform in the areas of search, transparency and integration capability. Companies, integration and implementation partners benefit from better searchability of their information assets, clearer governance structures and a stable API foundation for future extensions.
